ARTWORK / A-THRICEThe Experiment Continues
Freedom is not inheritance. Freedom is maintenance.
A 250th-birthday letter to an unfinished United States, told through the everyday labor of democracy.
Why this album exists.
Written around America’s 250th anniversary, The Experiment Continues asks what habits allow a free society to remain free. Its narrator finds democracy in town halls, county fairs, classrooms, front porches and folding chairs after the meeting. The album celebrates ideals without confusing them with an already perfect reality; it treats repair, disagreement, welcoming newcomers and historical honesty as acts of citizenship.
I wanted to celebrate the American experiment without romanticizing its failures—or giving up on its better possibilities. The listener is meant to leave with the keys, not just the conclusion.
NARRATIVE ARCThe inheritance → the reckoning → the stewardship.
