ARTWORK / A-THRICECompany Town
The company store learned to code.
California dust and server heat: Silicon Valley as a modern company town that eventually moves inside the worker.
Why this album exists.
Company Town draws on the artist’s experience of the Silicon Valley ecosystem to look beyond simple tech-industry caricatures. Campuses and shuttles, badges and stock grants, founder mythology and mission statements give way to legacy systems, performance reviews, AI pressure, quantified bodies and the fantasy of a final exit. Country, hip-hop, jug-band textures and server-room hum make old labor history rhyme with the modern platform economy.
I wanted to write about the tension between the real opportunity technology created and the time, identity and creative freedom absorbed by a system I helped sustain. Affection and complicity are central to this record, not afterthoughts.
NARRATIVE ARCArrival → maintenance and ideology → quantified self → AI boom → reckoning and exit.
